Shrijan Lwagun

Ustad Sahila, born (Asta Man Shrestha) in Asaar 1951, was a pioneering figure in Nepali folk‑based musical innovation. Known for introducing a fresh dimension to Nepali lok‑laya, he blended traditional rhythms with expressive vocal phrasing that made his songs deeply memorable. He trained in Kolkata under respected maestros Pandit Laxmikanta, Ustad Surya Mishra, and Ustad Shiva, gaining a strong classical foundation that shaped his unique style. In 1990 B.S., he recorded his songs in Kolkata, producing seven gramophone discs, a rare achievement for a Nepali artist of his era. His popular songs include “Kalo Theki Naran Kali Kathako”, which remains a beloved folk classic. Ustad Sahila passed away on Magh 15, 2013, leaving behind an important musical legacy.  

Sabina Karki, a talented Nepali singer, was born to Shyam Krishna Khatiwada and Nirmala Khatiwada in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. Although she was calm and reserved during her childhood, Sabina’s passion for music developed early, although she initially saw it as a hobby. It wasn’t until after her marriage in 2043 BS to Dinesh Karki that she fully embraced her musical aspirations, with her husband’s unwavering support. Her big break came with her second album, “Sarbada”, which garnered significant attention and solidified her place in the industry. Known for her emotional delivery and versatile vocal style, Sabina’s music resonates with a wide audience. Sabina has contributed to various collection albums and Nepali film songs, continuously expanding her portfolio. Her music is appreciated for its authenticity, with a focus on both lyrical depth and melodic beauty. As she continues to grow as an artist, her passion for music and her ability to connect with listeners remain central to her journey.

Govinda Madhur Acharya is a prolific Nepali singer, music composer, and lyricist, active in the industry since 2015. He is recognized for his extensive contribution of 700+ recorded Nepali songs, spanning modern, folk, Tharu, children’s music, and contemporary melodic genres. His work appears across films, studio albums, and viral digital releases.He has composed and performed songs for Nepali films such as Bulaki (2023) and Kumva Karan (2019/2018), where he is credited as composer and lyricist.On YouTube, his official channel features widely‑viewed songs including “School Janchu La” (14M+ views), “Ekdin Ujyaalo Chhaula”, “Sali Bhatu”, and recent releases like “Samundra Pari” (2082) and “Yo Sath Nachhodnu Maya” (2026).He is also active as a social activist, serving as President of Rapati Samaj Kathmandu, reflecting his engagement with community and cultural initiatives.

Ramana Shrestha is a Nepali playback singer known for her expressive, melodious voice that became a defining presence in the popular film‑song era of the 2050s. As cinema halls promoted films through hit songs, her vocals played a central role in shaping audience appeal and elevating the emotional tone of Nepali films. Her duets and playback performances became staples of the period, contributing to some of the most memorable soundtracks of the decade.She rose to prominence through collaborations with leading composers and singers of the time, most notably her celebrated duets with Umesh Pandey. Together, they delivered evergreen hits such as “Rato Tika Nidharma Talkyo…”, a song that remains deeply rooted in Nepali musical memory. Her voice also enriched major film projects, including Nirmaya, Allare, and several other productions where her tonal clarity and emotive delivery stood out.Throughout the 2050s, Ramana Shrestha became one of the most recognized female playback voices, contributing to numerous film soundtracks that continue to resonate with audiences today. Her work represents a significant chapter in the golden era of Nepali film music, marking her as one of the era’s defining playback artists.
