Ratna Shumsher Thapa (1939–2020) was a distinguished Nepali poet and lyricist, renowned for his significant contributions to Nepali music and literature. Born on July 31, 1939, in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, he began his poetic journey in 1951. Over his prolific career, Thapa penned numerous timeless songs that have become integral to Nepali culture.
