Manohari Singh (1931–2010), born in Kolkata to a Nepalese Bhusal family, is celebrated as one of South Asia’s finest woodwind and orchestral arrangers. Though globally known for his work with R.D. Burman, his Nepali heritage and musical upbringing in a Nepali household shaped his tonal sensibility, melodic phrasing, and emotional depth — qualities that strongly resonated with Nepali film composers.His mastery of alto saxophone, flute, piccolo, clarinet, mandolin, and bansuri made him a sought‑after session musician whose sound influenced the orchestral palette of Nepali film music in the 1980s–1990s. Many Nepali composers — especially those working in Mumbai and Kolkata studios — relied on his phrasing style, brass‑woodwind layering, and melodic counterlines as a reference point.Although he did not score many Nepali films directly, his arrangement style, brass band roots, and Nepali musical lineage helped shape the cross‑border sound that Nepali cinema adopted during its modern era. His work as part of the Basu–Manohari duo also inspired Nepali arrangers who studied Indian studio orchestration.

Rubin Kumar Shrestha is a Nepali musician, composer, and multi‑instrumentalist best known as a core member of the folk‑instrumental ensemble Kutumba since 2004. Specializing in ID music, background score, and thematic sound design, he contributes to Kutumba’s signature sound through traditional Nepali instruments, experimental arrangements, and contemporary fusion. His work spans live performances, studio recordings, documentaries, cultural projects, and background scoring for visual media, making him one of the prominent creative forces in Nepal’s instrumental music scene.

Deependra Kafle is a passionate Nepali drummer and versatile live musician with several years of professional experience across TV shows, bands, studio sessions, and international stages. Known for his adaptability and command over multiple musical genres, he has established himself as a reliable and dynamic performer in Nepal’s contemporary music scene.Kafle has contributed his drumming expertise to major Nepali reality shows, including The Voice of Nepal and Nepal Idol, where his precision, timing, and stylistic range have supported some of the country’s most celebrated live arrangements. His ability to shift seamlessly between pop, rock, folk, fusion, and modern commercial styles has made him a sought‑after session drummer.He is currently a key member of Sujan Chapagain & The Band, where his rhythmic foundation and musical sensitivity play a central role in the group’s live sound. His versatility extends beyond Nepal, having performed with international artists and participated in cross‑cultural musical collaborations.
