Active since 1997, after passing his voice test at Radio Nepal, he has become one of Nepal’s most prolific folk artists. Karki has sung more than 300 songs and has written and composed over 600 songs, shaping the modern lok‑dohori landscape with his expressive vocal style and storytelling.His major hits include “Junkiri,” “Mayalu Hajara,” “Gurans Fulne Thau Tira,” “Aama,” “Sunkhanima Sun,” “Hola Mayalu,” and many others that remain staples of Nepali folk music. He has released multiple successful albums, including the Aama series, Junkiri, Mayalu Hajara, and Sunkhanima Sun.Karki has received numerous honors, including Music Khabar Music Awards, Tuborg Image Award, Yamaha Kalika Music Award, and multiple national recognitions for best folk and dohori performances.Beyond music, he is the founder of the Phoolmaya Karki Foundation, through which he supports orphaned children and continues active social service alongside his musical career.

Paras Gazmer was a respected Nepali musician, composer, lyricist, and singer from Darjeeling, celebrated for his emotionally powerful songwriting and his unique ability to translate personal struggle into deeply moving music. Despite losing his eyesight at the age of one and a half due to measles, he rose to become one of the most influential musical voices of the Darjeeling hills.Born in Tindharey, Kurseong in 1962, Paras studied at the Kalimpong Blind School, where he learned guitar and developed his musical foundation. Entirely self‑taught, he composed, wrote, and arranged his own songs, drawing inspiration from lived experience, inner emotion, and the philosophy that “our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought.”He gained widespread recognition with his acclaimed albums Sanjha Ko Gham (1993) and Mero Bhagya (1999), both of which left a lasting mark on Nepali music. His compositions often explored themes of longing, hardship, and the inner world of the differently‑abled, resonating deeply with audiences across Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim, and the Nepali diaspora.Paras Gazmer performed extensively across the hills and neighboring regions and was honored by various cultural organizations for his contributions. Shambhu Rai (शम्भु राई) is a legendary figure in Nepali music—a singer, songwriter, composer, and sarangi player whose work bridges traditional folk and modern styles. Born in Chungmang, Dhankuta, he rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with his heartfelt lyrics and distinctive voice.
