Narayan Rayamajhi is a leading Nepali folk singer, composer, lyricist, scriptwriter, film director, and producer known for his deep contribution to Nepali lok‑geet and cinema. Active since 1985, he has written more than 14 dozen folk songs, 6 dozen modern songs, multiple musical plays, documentaries, and television songs. As a filmmaker, he directed the successful feature films Gorkha Paltan, Pardeshi, and Pardeshi 2, establishing himself as a major creative force in Nepali cinema. Rayamajhi also heads Reema Music and Reema Films, producing music, films, and cultural projects that preserve and promote Nepal’s folk heritage.

Sushila Kansakar is a revered Nepali singer whose graceful voice left a lasting mark on modern and Newari music. Born to Nil Ratna and Harsha Devi Kansakar, she gained early fame through Radio Nepal’s anniversary program in 2018 BS (1961 AD), where she won a gold medal presented by King Mahendra. With a voice both powerful and tender, she recorded memorable songs like “Malai Marnu Na Bachnu Banayo Piratile”. Although her recorded output was limited, her influence endures through timeless broadcasts and cultural tributes. Kansakar balanced her artistic passion with academic excellence, earning a Master’s in Economics and serving in the Nepal Government, where she rose to Vice Secretary. Kulendra Bishwakarma is a celebrated Nepali folk and dohori singer from Parbat, known for his powerful vocal style and prolific contribution to modern lok‑geet. Born in 1985, he began his musical career in 2061 BS with Ke Chha Halchal, followed by the breakthrough song “Pashchim Purbako.” He has recorded over 2,000 songs, including major hits like “Salko Patko Tapari,” “Rumal Halai Halai,” “Dadai Phurke Sallo,” “Jimbal Ko Aganima,” “Ma Ni Ustai,” and “Phool Hau Timi.” Bishwakarma has earned top honors such as the Prabal Janasewashree and multiple National Music Awards, and has served as a judge on Nepal Lok Star and Dohori Icon.

Devi Gharti Magar is one of Nepal’s most celebrated folk singers, renowned for her powerful voice and deep connection to traditional Lok Dohori music. Born on January 5, 1986, in Ramuwa, Baglung, she has become a household name through decades of dedication to Nepali folk culture. Her musical journey began in the early 2000s, and she rose to prominence through duets with her husband and frequent collaborator, Raju Dhakal. Together, they’ve delivered countless hits, including “Oralima Bar”, “Dui Mutuko Bandhan”, and “Takine Aaina”. Her discography also features beloved songs like “Banki Chari” with Arjun Sapkota, “Lauri Harayo” with Pashupati Sharma, and “Rudai Fulyo Makhmali” with Badri Pangeni. Devi has received numerous accolades, including the Music Khabar Music Award, Teej Music Award, and Kalika Music Award, recognizing her as one of the best female folk singers in Nepal. She was also elected as a central member of the Lok Dohori Pratisthan in 2019, affirming her leadership in the folk music community. Her recent releases like “Saili Salala” and “Kholi Salala Jhaliko Jhalala” continue to resonate with audiences, blending heartfelt lyrics with traditional melodies.
