Narayan Thapa

Nipesh Dhaka (born 6 October 1981, Pokhara) is a Nepali environmentalist, lyricist, and music composer recognized for his large‑scale environmental music projects and documentary work. He is the creator, lyricist, music composer, and director of the globally recognized environmental anthem “Melancholy,” recorded by 365 Nepali artists at Radio Nepal on 19 May 2016, a project that later achieved the Guinness World Record for “Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording.”Dhaka holds an M.A./M.Sc. and pursued further studies in Landscape Management, Soil and Water Management at the Technical University of Munich. He has been active since 1999, working across music, environmental advocacy, cinematography, and social campaigns.As the director of SEEM Nepal, he has led multiple environmental awareness initiatives, including research‑based documentaries such as Himalaya Calls (2015), Melancholy (2017), and Rodhan (2017), which explore biodiversity loss, climate change, and sustainable development across Nepal’s ecological regions.His environmental anthem Melancholy was released on 2 September 2017 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari and certified by Guinness World Records on 1 February 2018. The project featured national icons including Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Udit Narayan Jha, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, Prem Dhoj Pradhan, Sambhujeet Baskota, and Rajesh Payal Rai.Dhaka describes himself as an “Environmental Fighter”, working through music, research, and public campaigns to raise awareness on climate issues.

Ajay Adhikari ‘Sushil’ is a Nepali singer, composer, and lyricist active since 2068 BS (2011 AD), known for his socially themed modern songs and soft‑melodic vocal style. He began his professional journey at the age of 17 as a teacher at Samata School, Lalitpur, before transitioning fully into music, driven by a deep personal passion for songwriting and composition.Adhikari has released six studio albums, including Rahar, Pheri Arko Rahar, Pani Nakhai Basnai Pardaina, Dashain Ra Tihar, Yo Kasto Rahar, and Man Ko Rahar, establishing himself as a consistent creator in Nepal’s modern music scene. His works often explore themes of social behavior, cultural values, and everyday human experiences, blending modern melody with meaningful lyrical expression.Alongside music, he is active as a school principal, author, and theatre producer, reflecting a multidisciplinary creative identity. His book Bhoge, Dekhe Ani Lekhe and his involvement in stage productions highlight his broader artistic engagement.With a clear, expressive voice and a commitment to socially conscious storytelling, Adhikari continues to shape a distinctive presence in contemporary Nepali music.

Gopal Yonjan (1943–1997) was a towering figure in Nepali music—an accomplished singer, lyricist, music director, arranger, flutist, and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Darjeeling, India, he began his musical journey with the flute, winning accolades as a young performer. His deep study of Nepali folk, Rabindra Sangeet, and classical traditions shaped a career that spanned over three decades and more than 2,000 compositions. Yonjan moved to Kathmandu in 1967 to pursue his MA in Nepali and taught music at prestigious schools while composing for Radio Nepal, Nepal Police Club, and films. His partnership with Narayan Gopal is considered the golden era of Nepali modern music. He was known for blending poetic depth with rich orchestration, often writing, composing, and arranging his own songs. His works spanned genres—patriotic, romantic, philosophical, spiritual, and children's music. He was honored with the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Chinnalata Song Award, and multiple Best Music Director titles. His legacy continues to inspire generations of musicians and listeners.
