Kamala Shrestha is a celebrated Nepali singer known for her expressive voice and versatility across genres. She was born on Kartik 9, 2005 BS (approximately October 25, 1948 AD) in Kathmandu to Ram Bahadur Shrestha and Indra Maya Shrestha. Kamala began singing as a child and entered the professional music scene around 2024 BS (1967 AD) when she won first prize at a Radio Nepal anniversary competition for her song Naugediko Mala Mero. This marked the beginning of her active musical career, which flourished through the late 1960s, 1970s, and beyond. She was mentored by legendary composer Natikaji, who recognized her talent when she was just 13. Through Radio Nepal, she collaborated with iconic artists like Shiva Shankar and contributed to a wide range of musical styles—bhajans, Newari songs, Bhojpuri numbers, patriotic anthems, folk tunes, and adhunik (modern) songs. Over her career, she recorded more than 400 songs, many of which remain sadabahar (evergreen) classics. Kamala Shrestha also performed internationally, representing Nepal in India, China, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Japan, and other countries. Her dedication to music continued even after marriage and motherhood, defying social expectations of the time.

Natikaji, (Amrit Lal Shrestha) born in dec 25 1925 in Lalitpur, Nepal, is revered as one of the most influential music directors in Nepali history. A prodigy from a musical Newar family, he began playing harmonium at age seven and later joined Radio Nepal in 1950, where he composed over 2000 songs across genres. His works include timeless classics like Marna Baru Garho Hunna, Nepali Hami, and Phoolko Thunga Bagera Gayo. He also directed music for more than 15 operas and several Nepali films, including Man Ko Bandh and Sindoor. Known for blending classical depth with emotional resonance, Natikaji earned prestigious honors such as the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu and Chinnalata Geet Puraskar. His melodies continue to shape Nepal’s musical identity, making him a cultural icon. He passed away in nov 22003, leaving behind a legacy that still echoes in the hearts of Nepali music lovers.

Lama and Kaili Lama, he attended various schools and completed his SLC from Shanti Bidhya School. Passionate about music from an early age, Ashusen pursued his academics at Pashupati Campus in Chabahil before taking a break to focus entirely on music. Entry into Music: Ashusen's musical journey began with winning the Asian Star title, which marked the start of his professional career. He also participated in notable reality shows like Brighter Timro Sur Mero Geet and Swor Sangam on Image FM, which helped him gain recognition. His first song, "Man Pani Timrai," recorded at Jems Pradhan’s studio, launched his career in music. Musical Career: Ashusen is well-known not only as a singer but also as a talented composer. His first album, Man Pani Timrai was a success, and he has since composed music for several Nepali films and albums. He was mentored by renowned figures like Pramod Nirwan and Sanjeev Singh, who greatly influenced his music career.
