Yogeshwar Amatya

  Lasimit Rai, born in Rangapani, Jalpaiguri, India, was a celebrated Nepali singer active for more than three decades. She earned her Master’s degree in Nepali Literature from Tribhuvan University and taught at United Academy in Jawalakhel. Her admired film songs include Mayaluko Muharai Hansilo from Gauley, Sangsangai Bachna Paun from Lekhanth, Mari Gaye Muri Mato from Paradeshi Kanchha, and Aaj Maile Ram Namai Japey from Majhi Dai. Her modern hits include Sunkoshiko Sunko Pani, Samjhanale, and Ghamle Pani Polchha. She lent her voice to over fifty songs. Rai passed away in 2021 due to COVID‑19.

His work appears across films, studio albums, and viral digital releases.He has composed and performed songs for Nepali films such as Bulaki (2023) and Kumva Karan (2019/2018), where he is credited as composer and lyricist.On YouTube, his official channel features widely‑viewed songs including “School Janchu La” (14M+ views), “Ekdin Ujyaalo Chhaula”, “Sali Bhatu”, and recent releases like “Samundra Pari” (2082) and “Yo Sath Nachhodnu Maya” (2026).He is also active as a social activist, serving as President of Rapati Samaj Kathmandu, reflecting his engagement with community and cultural initiatives.
