Pramod learnt tabla at home from his father Pundit Hom Nath Upadhyaya. Drawing inspiration from his maestro father Pramod started playing tabla when he was a toddler and at the age of five he performed at then Royal Nepal Academy (now Nepal Academy) which was his maiden show. His first abroad tour was for the German Unification Day in Germany. He had also an opportunity to learn tabla from legendary Ustad Alla Rakha from an institute named after the Ustad himself in Bombay, India. Incidentally, Pramod also had an opportunity to learn from Ustad Zakir Hussain for three months as the maestro happened to be a visiting faculty at the institute. Pramod is adept in all percussions made of leather. Besides that, he has worked as a recordist in many studios in Nepal. But, his fame is not confined as a musician or a recordist either; he has also lent his voice to many popular songs. Pramod was affiliated to Sukarma since its inception and has been playing in the group for ten years now.

Born on September 12th in Kavresthali, Rawaltar, Shashi Rawal developed a passion for singing at a young age. Encouraged by her parents, Shashi pursued her musical dreams, despite initial resistance from her father. Her love for music blossomed as she started writing her own lyrics and composing songs, and her talent was soon recognized after winning a competition that led to her recording her first song. Her breakthrough moment came with the song "Chahana Sakiyo", which garnered significant attention and appreciation. This success paved the way for her to collaborate with popular singer Yash Kumar on his album, marking a major milestone in her career. Over the years, Shashi has contributed to various albums, remixes, and jingles, establishing herself as a talented and versatile artist. With a gold medal in her junior diploma from Kala Nidhi Indira Sangeet Maha Vidhalaya, Shashi Rawal continues to grow as an artist, constantly exploring new avenues to express her passion for music.

Devika KC is a celebrated Nepali folk singer known for her powerful voice and captivating performances in the traditional dohori genre. Hailing from a culturally rich background, she has become a prominent figure in Nepal’s lok geet scene, especially admired for her dynamic duets and Teej songs. Devika’s music blends heartfelt lyrics with rhythmic melodies, often reflecting themes of love, rural life, and social commentary. She rose to fame through popular songs like “Paariko Sangile,” and her collaborations with artists such as Yam Chhetri and Shankar BC have garnered millions of views on YouTube. Her presence on platforms like TikTok and SoundCloud has further expanded her reach among younger audiences. Beyond her musical talent, Devika is known for her vibrant personality and candid interviews, including her appearance on The Kaulibudhi Show. She continues to inspire with her dedication to preserving and evolving Nepal’s folk music tradition.

Nishan Bhattarai was a senior Nepali ghazal singer who emerged in the late 2040s BS, known for his soulful voice, emotional depth, and long dedication to stage and restaurant ghazal performances. He was the younger brother of renowned singer Lochan Bhattarai, and was respected for his gentle personality and commitment to the art of ghazal singing.He spent part of his career working at Radio Nepal, where he recorded several memorable songs. Among his notable works are “Yo mutubhitra timro tasbir…” composed by Milan Moktan, and “Kamanale bharieko…” written by Dirgha Singh Bam. Another well‑known song, “Maya gar maya gar…”, featured female vocals by Sukmit Gurung.Through decades of performances and recordings, he contributed significantly to the growth and preservation of Nepali ghazal music, earning admiration from audiences and fellow musicians alike.Nishan Bhattarai passed away in a road accident at Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Monday night, 28 Poush 2076 (13 January 2020 AD).
