Samjhana Upreti Rauniyar was born on Saturday, Mangsir 13, 2032 (November 29, 1975) in Gaurishankar VDC of Sarlahi district to the late father Keshav Prasad Upreti and mother Narayani Devi Upreti. Samjhana Upreti Rauniyar obtained her bachelor's degree in film directing and screenwriting from the College of Film Studies in BS 2064.Samjhana Upreti Rauniyar had experience as an assistant director in the feature films 'Bir Ganeshman', 'Man Mandir', 'Siwandko Sindoor', and 'Mamaghar' from 2000 to 2002. She also served as the 'Costume Coordinator' for the film 'Bir Ganeshman'.Rauniyar was the event coordinator for the film awards ceremony organized by the Nepali Film Technicians Association in 2008 and 2011 and the awards organized by the Nepal Advertising Association in 2008 and 2010. She was also the event manager for the 'Business Excellence Awards' and 'Call Competition' ceremonies organized by Boss and Bhapatrika from 2004 to 2008. She also worked as a 'Marketing Executive' for 'Divya Drishti' Television (2001 to 2001), 'Marketing Personnel and Production' for 200 Channels Pvt. Ltd. (1996-1998), and 'Media Executive' for Key Mark Ad Agency (1998).In 2010, Samjhana Upreti Rauniyar worked as the Creative Head (ACH) for Balaji Telefilm Pvt. Ltd., Bombay, and in the same year, she worked as a coordinator for the documentary film 'Over Mumbai' produced by the Indian Embassy. The documentary analyzed the relationship between Nepal and Nepal. Before that, she worked as an assistant director on the film 'Raid Aar Rang' directed by Neeraj Pathak in 2009 and produced by Ikkon and Mukta Arts in 2009. She also worked as an assistant director on the film 'A Strange Love' by Crystal Films directed by Tariq Khan in 2009.She also worked as an assistant director in six feature-length films, each one produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment, which were broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television in Bombay in 2009.

D.B Pariyar was a pioneering Nepali filmmaker best known for directing, writing, and shaping Satya Harischandra (1950), widely regarded as the first Nepali‑language feature film. Working from India during the early diaspora era of Nepali cinema, Pariyar helped establish the narrative, technical, and cultural foundations that later filmmakers would build upon. His contribution marked a defining moment in the transition from stage traditions to cinematic storytelling for Nepali audiences. Though historical documentation remains limited, Pariyar’s role as director, scriptwriter, and story creator positions him as one of the earliest architects of Nepali film history
