Sunil Singh Thakuri's passion for music ignited during his school years, where he began by mimicking popular singers. Encouraged by friends and family who recognized his vocal talent, he transitioned from casual performances to a professional music career. His debut song, "Mutuma Timilai", marked the beginning of his journey as a recording artist. This track laid the foundation for his first solo album, "Crazy Hat", released in 2007. The album featured a mix of love and emotional songs, with "Bhuli Bhuli Deu" earning a nomination for Best New Artist at the 10th Annual Tuborg Image Awards. Building on this success, Sunil released his second album, "Crazy Hat 2 – Ghatana Ghatyo", in 2008. The title track, "Ghatana Ghatyo", became a significant hit, showcasing his versatility and deepening his presence in the Nepali music scene. The song's popularity was bolstered by its engaging music video, which resonated with audiences nationwide. Arun Thapa (1952–1999) was a beloved Nepali singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and emotionally resonant lyrics. Born in Calcutta, India, he moved to Kathmandu as an infant and later studied in Darjeeling before returning to Nepal to pursue music. His career began in the early 1970s, with his first major hit Jati Maya Laye Pani launching him into national fame. Thapa’s music often reflected themes of love, longing, and introspection, inspired by a personal heartbreak during his college years. His compositions blended poetic depth with melodic simplicity, earning him a devoted following.
