Sunil Upreti is a prominent Nepali pop singer and guitarist whose career emerged in the 1990s, gaining recognition as one of the defining voices of Nepal’s early pop era. He began as the vocalist and guitarist of the Prism Band and later performed with The Legend Band before establishing himself as a solo artist known for his expressive singing style and melodic guitar work. Mahesh Mukhiya Sunuwar (born May 24, 1992) is a Nepali singer known for his lok‑pop and modern melodic style. He entered the Nepali music industry in 2065 BS (2008/2009 AD) with the songs ‘Kehi Din Ma Tadha’ and ‘Tyo Pari Gaunma’, both later included in his debut album ‘Aash’ (2067 BS ≈ 2010/2011 AD) — a four‑song collection rooted in lok‑pop flavors.In 2070 BS (2013/2014 AD), Sunuwar released his second album ‘Promise’, featuring six songs blending lok‑pop and sugam sangeet. Tracks such as ‘Sanile Chhodchha Baru’, ‘Oh Gori Oh Gori’, ‘Pathibhara Devi Kasam’, and especially ‘Mathi Mathi Lekma’ helped expand his popularity. He also collaborated with renowned singer Milan Amatya on Pathibhara Devi Kasam.Initially treating music as a hobby, Sunuwar now pursues it seriously. Having begun by singing in his mother tongue, he is currently active with concerts and preparing his third album, where he will write and compose his own songs.
