Suraj Nepal

Manaraja Nakarmi is a Nepali musician and music director known for his extensive work in Nepal Bhasa, Nepali Aadhunik, Bhajan, and national songs. Active since the 2010s, he has composed and arranged music for numerous songs across genres, including Nepal Bhasa classics, modern Nepali pop, devotional Krishna and Buddha bhajans, and patriotic works. His credits include compositions for artists such as Mohan Shakya, Asha Nakarmi, Bishwo Nepali, Mira Rana, and Kumar Kancha, along with multiple self‑produced releases on his YouTube channel.

Nepal has many flautists but no one has completed his Masters in flute-playing as has Jeevan Ale, He completed his Masters from the Prayag Institute of Illahabad, India. Having devoted more than half of his life to classical music, this resident of Mahottari has finally received accolades for his efforts. Though interested in flutes from an early age, Ale says that he only understood the intensity of its music when he started studying it. he was more involved in the academic side of music rather than the practical. He taught at Kathmandu University and also gave private tuitions.  

Ratna BK, also known as Ratna Bishwakarma, is a talented Nepali flautist and music instrumentalist. He has been playing the flute for over a decade and has made significant contributions to the Nepali music industry through his performances in various recording studios, reality shows, and live concerts. Manohari Singh (1931–2010), born in Kolkata to a Nepalese Bhusal family, is celebrated as one of South Asia’s finest woodwind and orchestral arrangers. Though globally known for his work with R.D. Burman, his Nepali heritage and musical upbringing in a Nepali household shaped his tonal sensibility, melodic phrasing, and emotional depth — qualities that strongly resonated with Nepali film composers.His mastery of alto saxophone, flute, piccolo, clarinet, mandolin, and bansuri made him a sought‑after session musician whose sound influenced the orchestral palette of Nepali film music in the 1980s–1990s. Many Nepali composers — especially those working in Mumbai and Kolkata studios — relied on his phrasing style, brass‑woodwind layering, and melodic counterlines as a reference point.Although he did not score many Nepali films directly, his arrangement style, brass band roots, and Nepali musical lineage helped shape the cross‑border sound that Nepali cinema adopted during its modern era. His work as part of the Basu–Manohari duo also inspired Nepali arrangers who studied Indian studio orchestration.
