Shishir Yogi

Shiva Shankar Manandhar (1932–2004) was a legendary figure in Nepali music and cinema, celebrated for his versatility as a singer, composer, and actor. Born in Newroad, Kathmandu, to a musically inclined Newar family, his early exposure to classical Newari songs through his father, Man Bahadur, laid the foundation for his lifelong devotion to music. He joined Radio Nepal in 1951, where he collaborated with Nati Kaji to shape the golden era of Nepali music. Over his prolific career, he composed around 1,200 songs and sang nearly 300, spanning genres like love ballads, bhajans, patriotic anthems, and tragic melodies. His compositions for artists such as Narayan Gopal, Tara Devi, and Aruna Lama remain timeless. 🎬 In cinema, Shiva Shankar played the lead role of Lahure Dai in Aama (1964), Nepal’s first feature film. Shiva Shankar received numerous national honors and served as Executive Director of Ratna Recording Corporation (1987–1991). Even post-retirement, he remained a guardian of Nepal’s musical soul.

Naren Limbu a Nepali singer and a music video director. He spent his childhood days in many places. So, he too joined in different school as Gorkha Children School (Hongkong), Biyajpur (Dharan). He also did his A Level from A J Wilde Institute. He is interested in music since childhood. He also study film making from Institute of Performing Film and Arts. He used to listen music a lot. He didn’t have formal education in music. But in school life he used to play guitars with his friend. They gather and sang the song. While he studied at RIBS school, Dharan he meet Sudip Gurung. He and Sudip recorded the first song titled “Dosh” at Music Work in 2002. They name the album Aastha. In the album songs like “Harpal” , “Yek Mauka and so on. The song became hits as well music video in the album also highly appreciated by people. The album is record under the banner of SAV. Naren Limbu After few months he worked alone and release the solo album Aatma. Among other songs from Aatma”, “Eklai” and “Timi Aaunu became hits in number. He again release next album title Aartha. In the album he included the song Kheney Numa Kewa” of Limbu language. He have also sung for other collection albums. He have also done stage program in Dharan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Hong Kong. He is also involved in making music videos of his own songs. The song like Aatma”, “Timi Aaunu”, “Garho Garhai Cha” and “Aantim Maya”.which he have directed. He also awarded by Hits FM Music Award for Best New Artist in 2003. Likewise the same year he awarded by Channel Nepal for the music video of Ek Mauka. Not only this he too nominated in the list of Best Music Video Category.

Prabhavan J a multi interested personality had passed his Vocal test for Radio Nepal in B.S 2052, (1995 A.D).  He is a musician- composer, lyricist, singer and a script writer who has played a role in popularizing Nepali music with most of his songs containing social messages. His Music Video direction has enriched the world of music and enthralled the audiences with his masterful artistry. Their soulful rendering has brought solace to many a heart. He is admired for his spontaneously scribbling words and presenting it beautifully with soothing music and heart touching videos. He has struggled to keep his interest alive in Nepali folk songs, romantic songs, social awareness songs etc. He also gives back ground music to popular tele serials etc. His love for music on one hand and love for the country on the other has made him create his own space to get out of the commercial world to do something different which helps to bring about awareness among people on social issues and at the same time entertain. He is particular on the projects that he wants to get involved with. He believes in Perfection at work which has been his identity and always likes to remain in low Profile. Besides music he is also involved with movie direction.  He is working with some living Legends for projects on National Interest.
