Sanjeev Baraili

Shisir Shrestha is a respected Nepali guitarist and music educator who trained under the legendary composer Ambar Gurung. Known for his refined technique and deep understanding of both Eastern and Western musical traditions, Shrestha contributed to numerous compositions and recordings during his time with Gurung’s team. He has performed in classical and contemporary ensembles, supporting the evolution of Nepali modern music. Beyond performance, Shrestha has mentored young musicians and promoted structured music education in Nepal. His work reflects the legacy of Ambar Gurung’s vision — blending tradition with innovation in Nepali music’s instrumental landscape.

The year 2004 introduced Moment of Bliss, the album that included the song Phul ko Akhaan Maa, which brought Ani Choying Drolma much acclaim. The song, written by Durga Lal Shrestha and composed by Nhyoo Bajracharya, went on to be one of the most played songs on media and one would be hard-pressed to find anybody in Kathmandu who hadn’t heard the tune. The song broke the monotony of the then popular music with its melody and easy flowing instrumentation and Ani’s soothing, almost meditative vocals. Although largely unrecognised by the public, Gopal Rasaily, the arranger of the song, also managed to gather appreciation for his work from others in the business; it represented a breakthrough for him in the Nepali music industry. Rasaily, who is also the in-house arranger at the Do Re Mi studio.

Prince Nepali is a fourth-generation Nepali sarangi player and educator. He has made significant contributions to preserving and promoting traditional Nepali folk music through his exceptional skills and dedication. Career Highlights Sarangi Player: Prince Nepali is known for his mastery of the sarangi, a traditional Nepali string instrument. He has performed with various artists and bands, including Bipul Chettri, Ani Choying Drolma, and Sujan Chapagain. Educator: He runs classes at Sarangi Ghar, where he teaches the next generation of sarangi players and works to preserve traditional Nepali music. Fusion Band: Prince Nepali co-founded the Nepali-American folk fusion band Manaslu Blue, blending Appalachian Bluegrass with Nepali folk music

Bhupendra Rasaili is a Nepali Octapad player and drummer known for his dynamic rhythmic style and his work across live stages, cultural programs, and collaborative musical performances. His playing blends modern electronic percussion with traditional Nepali rhythmic patterns, making him a versatile accompanist for singers, folk ensembles, and contemporary fusion acts.
