Nirmala Shrestha

Dibya Khaling (March 28, 1952 (15 Jestha 2009 BS)) is a famous Nepali musician, composer and lyricist. Dibya Khaaling has rendered music for about 1000 songs, including the famous “Mero geet sabai timi laai..” sung by Arun Thapa , Ma Ta Laligurans Bhayechhu, Hey Bir Hinda Aghi Sari, Preyasika Yaadharu, Mayako Aadharma, and Bipana Babhaye Bachidine, and music for plays and films (Nepali film Didi by Pratap Subba). Khaling moved to Nepal from Darjeeling in the 1960s and worked with Radio Nepal. He composed music for singers like Narayan Gopal, Arun Thapa, Gyanu Rana, Mira Rana etc. A book “Dibya Sangeetkaar, Dibya Khaaling” has been written by his friends and family members, such as poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire and musicians Kiran Pradhan and Bulu Mukarung in his memory. He was married to Grace Khaaling. He is survived by three sons (Prajaya, Pradesh, Pratibimba), one daughter (Pratigya), two granddaughters (Divyanah Grace and Aanyata Parisa) and two grandsons (Noah and Deedan Daniel). Dibya was suffering from heart problems and died on 25 June 2006.

Anju Shrestha is a Nepali singer known for her contributions to modern, pop, and folk music. Born in Kupondole, Lalitpur, she is the youngest daughter of the late Indra Bahadur Shrestha and Gangamaya Shrestha. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music from Kalanidhi College of Music.Anju officially began her musical career in 2015 AD (2072 BS) with the release of her debut song "Rato Sari." Since then, she has consistently released original Teej songs that celebrate Nepalese culture and traditions during the annual Teej festival.Over the years, she has released more than two dozen songs across various genres, including modern, pop, and folk-modern music. Some of her notable songs include Aankha Banda, Khoji Rahechu, Manale Aafno, Guras Ko Rang, Piritiko Dorile, Dhaka Topi, Naheraikai Garne, and Naherana Tyasari Kanchha, in which she has contributed as a singer, lyricist, and performer.Alongside her music career, Anju Shrestha currently serves as a Manager at Apex Group Nepal and also operates her own private business. With over a decade of dedication to the music industry, she has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Chhayachhabi Music Award, Sagarmatha Music Award, Music Khabar Music Award, and numerous other recognitions for her contributions to Nepali music.

Kamal Khatri, born on 8th Mangshir in Hetauda, is a prominent figure in the Nepali music scene. Growing up in a musical family, Kamal's father, Puskar Bahadur Gotame Khatri, worked in a bank, while his mother, Laxmi Devi Khatri, was a homemaker. Though Kamal spent his early childhood in Hetauda and later Sarlahi, it was his passion for music that shaped his path. Early Life and Education: Kamal completed his schooling at Shree Chakra Janta Higher Secondary School and later pursued his higher education at R.R. College. However, his heart was always set on music, and after completing his S.L.C., Kamal decided to follow his dreams, moving to Kathmandu in 2059 BS to immerse himself in the city's vibrant music scene. Musical Journey: Kamal’s early days in Kathmandu were full of challenges. He initially worked as a technician in a local studio, which allowed him to gradually familiarize himself with the music industry. In 2062 BS, Kamal made his debut by recording his first song, marking the beginning of his musical career. His big break came when he joined Ethos Band in 2063 BS as the lead vocalist. The band’s songs, especially Nakkali Maiya, brought Kamal into the limelight, but it was the iconic track Sustari Suatari that truly cemented his place in Nepali music. Solo Career: Building on the success of his time with Ethos Band, Kamal Khatri pursued a solo career and released his first album, Pida. The album was a huge hit, with songs like Pida and Sambodhan becoming fan favorites. His music videos gained widespread airplay on television and FM stations, solidifying his reputation as a talented and influential artist in Nepal.
