Danny Denzongpa is a legendary Nepali‑origin Indian actor, singer, and filmmaker whose career spans more than five decades, with over 190 films since his debut in 1971.. Born in Yuksom, Sikkim, he rose to prominence in Hindi films through memorable roles in Khuda Gawah, Agneepath, Ghatak, Hum, Andhi Gali, and many others, becoming one of the most respected character actors of his generation. As a singer, he recorded several Nepali hits, including the evergreen “Musu Musu Hasi Deu”,Rato Rani Phulejhai and “Chiso Chiso Hawama”, which remain beloved across Nepal. Danny also acted in the Nepali film Saino, a classic of Nepali cinema.  

Lasata Joshi is a versatile Nepali vocalist whose career spans over three decades, blending modern melodies with cultural depth. She began her musical journey with the album Aachanak in 2050 B.S. (1993/94 A.D.), marking her entry into Nepal’s contemporary music scene. Early Recognition Lasata’s talent was evident from a young age. She won first prize in the Nationwide Inter-school Music Competition in 2050 B.S. and earlier in the Nepal Bhasa Song Competition in 2045 B.S., showcasing her command over both Nepali and Newar musical traditions. Career Highlights Over the years, Lasata has lent her voice to a wide range of genres—from romantic ballads to ghazals and Nepal Bhasa songs. She has also contributed vocals to popular commercials, including jingles for Fair & Lovely and Lifebuoy, making her voice familiar to households across Nepal.

Tara Devi: The Nightingale of Nepal Tara Devi Shrestha was born on January 15, 1946, in the vibrant neighborhood of Indra Chowk in Kathmandu, Nepal. She started her professional singing career at the tender age of seven, and her soulful voice quickly captured hearts. Tara Devi went on to record over 4,000 songs during her remarkable 40-year singing career. Versatility and Influence: Tara Devi’s music spanned various genres, from prayer songs to Nepali folk tunes. She was a versatile artist, and her compositions are regarded as classic gems in Nepal. Almost every singer in Nepal has been influenced by Tara Devi’s artistry in one way or another. Iconic Songs: Some of her famous numbers include: “Ukali Orali Haruma” “Phool ko Thunga” “Nirdosh Mero Pachhyaurima” “Ae Kancha” “Himal ko Kaakhama” Awards and Recognition: Tara Devi received several prestigious awards, including: Member of the Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu, First Class Mahendra-Ratna Award Indra Rajya Laxmi Award Jagadamba Shree Puraskar Chinnalata Award (“Maina”) Later Life and Legacy: Tara Devi faced personal tragedies, losing her 25-year-old son to blood cancer and her husband in an airplane crash.Her health deteriorated, and she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which halted her singing career. On January 23, 2006, at the age of 60, Tara Devi left this world, but her music continues to resonate with love and patriotism. Tara Devi’s soulful melodies remain timeless, and her legacy lives on.
