Subani Moktan is a singer/songwriter and also a music arranger. Besides her own independent music, she also works as a playback singer for movies. A teacher at Kathmandu Jazz "Conservatory, Subani Moktan plays the guitar and piano and collaborates with several bands. Subani started doing music early since she started learning the piano when she was 6 and winning her first award by securing the first position in the All Nepal Singing Competition organized by Bal Mandir when she was 7. She recorded her first song at Radio Nepal as an award for winning the competition. At 14, she took up the guitar and started collaborating with artists such as Nirnaya da NSK and Khem Gurung. At 16, she won the Hits FM Music Award for Best New Artist. After the release of her 2nd album, Subani was awarded the HITS FM Music Award for "Best Pop Vocal performance Female".
