Kiran Rasaily

Chandra Kumar Rasaili, popularly known as CK Rasaili, is a Nepali musician, composer, and lyricist. He was born in Baluchistan, Pakistan, while his father was serving in the British Army. He later studied in Meghalaya, India, where he played in an orchestra before moving to Nepal. Rasaili gained recognition after performing at Rastriya Nach Ghar during King Mahendra’s birthday celebration, where the King personally gave him a song to compose. He has worked with Radio Nepal and composed music for Nepal Police and Nepal Army. His contributions to Nepali music earned him prestigious awards, including the Narayan Gopal Memorial Award (2017) and the Natikaji National Music Award. Some of his notable songs include: Premko Mala Kasari Ma Bhuleu Aankha Dekhi Ojhel Jannma Garidein Kahilekahi Ma Haschu Dukheko Dil His compositions reflect themes of love, nostalgia, and cultural identity, making them resonate deeply with audiences.

Yasoda Parajuli (Kharel), born in Ashoj 2026 BS in Manipur, India, comes from a musical family. Her father, Chudamani Kharel, was a talented singer, although not a professional, and her mother, Bhima Kharel, was a dedicated housewife. Yasoda grew up alongside five siblings, spending most of her childhood and adult years in India. Despite the lack of formal music training in her early years, she developed a strong passion for music. Yasoda completed her schooling at Kangla Napongdi High School in Manipur and also completed her inter-level studies there. From an early age, she was deeply immersed in classical music and participated in various local programs, showcasing her budding musical talent. Before moving to Nepal, she contributed her voice to several Manipuri films, gaining recognition in the regional music scene. In 2048 BS, Yasoda moved to Kathmandu, Nepal, where she quickly became a part of the local music scene. She began singing live performances on Radio Nepal, focusing on classical songs. Her breakthrough moment came in the same year when she recorded her first song, "Din Dhalyo Andheri Raat Maa," which became an instant hit and established her as a household name in Nepali music. Following this success, Yasoda continued to build her career, contributing her voice to numerous albums. In 2049 BS, Yasoda married Ganesh Parajuli, a fellow musician and singer. Together, they released three duet albums: "Gaunko Maya," "Yugal," and "Saha Yatra," which were well-received by the public. For several years, they lived in Hong Kong, where they continued to perform and share their musical journey. Now back in Nepal, Yasoda is planning a new musical venture, hoping for continued love and support from her fans.

Rajiv Lohani is a Nepali singer and music director known for his contributions to Nepali pop music. He has released several popular songs, including: Tara Joona – A well-known pop song released in 2016. Baleko Aago Jaleko Prem – A hit song with millions of views. Lapsi Fedima – A recent collaboration with Asmita Adhikari. Phool Rojda – Another popular track. Lohani has been active in the Nepali music industry, creating songs that blend modern and traditional elements.

Laboni Chakraborty is a talented Nepali classical singer originally from Kolkata, India. She has made a significant impact on Nepal’s contemporary classical music scene, captivating audiences with her soulful renditions. She is also a judge on the Mero Voice Universe talent show.  Early Life & Education Laboni Chakraborty grew up in a musical family, where her father and relatives were singers. She began learning music at the age of five under the guidance of Baishali Juardhar. Later, she trained under Ajoy Chakrabarty, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist, for ten years. She pursued her academic degree in music at Rabindra Bharati University, where she was a gold medalist in her master’s program. Career & Contributions Despite her strong musical foundation in India, Laboni Chakraborty chose to work in Nepal, where she has become one of the most respected classical singers. She teaches music at Lalit Kala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and runs her own music school, Raagrup, where she mentors aspiring musicians. She has performed in various prestigious events, including the Yalamaya Classic, where her rendition of Vilambit and Madhya Khayal in Raag Todi received a standing ovation.
