Sujan Mainali

Lochan Rijal is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer, songwriter and a scholar of ethnomusicology. Born in the Panchthar district of Nepal, he grew up around music performed at festivals by the local people of that region. The experience influenced him to explore the potential of sound and develop his passion into his profession. While in college, he began teaching music to school children in Kathmandu while also working in the pop and rock music scene, producing award-winning albums, before moving onto something that fed his scholarly ambitions. In 2014, he graduated with a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Massachusetts and Kathmandu University. He also works as the associate professor and Head of Kathmandu University’s Department of Music.

Rapraveen Shrestha is a talented Nepali music composer, arranger, director, and music coordinator, known for his ability to weave sonic innovation with precise technical execution. He is the Founder and Director of Pulse Studio, a dedicated creative space for music production, mixing, and mastering in Nepal. Samriddhi Rai is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, journalist, and media personality from Godawari, Lalitpur, born on August 13, 1987. She began her career in journalism, working with outlets like Kantipur, ECS Media, and The Himalayan Times, before transitioning into music and digital content creation. Her debut song “Bishwas” (2014) introduced her soulful style, followed by hits like “Ma Chahi Nepali,” “Prayas” (with Rohit John Chhetri), “Ma Dami Chhu,” and “Hera Na,” which blend pop melodies with empowering lyrics. She’s also the founder of Sammy Productions and host of the travel vlog series Sammy Adventures on YouTube and Kantipur TV. A former beauty pageant contestant, Samriddhi represented Nepal internationally and sparked debate by speaking out against favoritism in Miss Nepal. Her bold voice, both musically and socially, continues to inspire youth across Nepal.

Khem Raj Gurung was a celebrated Nepalese folk singer and songwriter, known for his contributions to the Lok Dohori genre. Born on January 14, 1975, in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha district, Nepal, he gained fame with iconic songs like "Wari Jamuna Pari Jamuna," "Aalu Tama," and "Bhanchan Budapakale." His music often carried cultural and moral themes, resonating deeply with audiences across Nepal. Throughout his career, Khem Raj released nine albums, including Jeevan, Aanamol, Dharan-Pokhara, and Dhakre. He was one of the most prominent singers in Nepal during the 1990s and 2000s. Tragically, he passed away on August 25, 2016, at the age of 41 due to complications from a liver infection.
