Rama Thapaliya

Shiva Shankar Manandhar (1932–2004) was a legendary figure in Nepali music and cinema, celebrated for his versatility as a singer, composer, and actor. Born in Newroad, Kathmandu, to a musically inclined Newar family, his early exposure to classical Newari songs through his father, Man Bahadur, laid the foundation for his lifelong devotion to music. He joined Radio Nepal in 1951, where he collaborated with Nati Kaji to shape the golden era of Nepali music. Over his prolific career, he composed around 1,200 songs and sang nearly 300, spanning genres like love ballads, bhajans, patriotic anthems, and tragic melodies. His compositions for artists such as Narayan Gopal, Tara Devi, and Aruna Lama remain timeless. 🎬 In cinema, Shiva Shankar played the lead role of Lahure Dai in Aama (1964), Nepal’s first feature film. Jayanendra Chand Thakuri (1942–2020) was a prolific Nepali film actor whose career helped shape the foundation of modern Nepali cinema. A former Indian Army serviceman and Jawalakhel Youth Club cricketer, he entered films with Jeevan Rekha (1982) and went on to appear in over 100 films, becoming one of the most recognizable character actors of his era. His notable works include Kanchhi, Bishwas, Maya Preeti, Pheri Bhetaula, Angarakshyak, and Parkhi Base. Alish Rai is a Nepali comedian, actor, model, director, and video creator, widely recognized as one of Nepal’s leading prank stars. Rising to fame through his self‑titled YouTube channels, he creates prank videos, comedy sketches, short movies, dance‑based content, and social‑awareness pranks that have garnered millions of views and a large following.Born in Gaighat, Nepal on 20 November 1994, he later moved to Kathmandu, where he completed a Bachelor of Business Studies and began building his on‑screen career. Alongside prank content, he has appeared as an actor in TV series such as Malamal and 16 Duna 8, and features in music videos and short films, often directing or co‑conceptualizing his own projects.

Narendra Thapa is a Nepali film actor best known for his villainous and character roles across more than three dozen feature films, making him one of the recognizable antagonistic faces of the 1990s Nepali cinema era. Active from the late 1980s onward, Thapa appeared in several major commercial and socially themed films, often portraying antagonists, corrupt officials, or powerful enforcers. His screen presence, sharp dialogue delivery, and intense expressions made him a frequent casting choice for negative roles.His filmography includes notable titles such as Yug Dekhi Yug Samma (1991), Kasam (1992), Prem Pinda (1993), Nata (1994), Balidan (1997), Aandolan (1997), Dautari (1998), Chhahaari (1998), Thuldai (1999), Hatya (1999), Namaste Nepal (2015), Destination Kathmandu (2018), and Chhakka Panja 5 (2024).In addition to acting, Thapa has also worked behind the camera as the director and story writer of the film Desh Dekhi Bidesh (2008).Across his career, he became known for portraying villains who were not just violent but layered—reflecting the political, social, and emotional tensions of the era.
