Ashok Darji is a young Nepali singer and emerging actor who rose to national recognition for his natural voice, emotional delivery, and viral performances at a very early age. Discovered through social media and live street performances, he quickly became a household name after collaborating with composer Tanka Budathoki, releasing hit songs such as Man Bina Kasailai Man Paraundaina and other popular child‑vocal tracks. His expressive singing style and humble background made him one of Nepal’s most beloved child artists.Alongside music, Ashok has appeared in music videos, stage shows, and acting projects, gradually expanding his presence in Nepali visual media. Shiva Shankar Manandhar (1932–2004) was a legendary figure in Nepali music and cinema, celebrated for his versatility as a singer, composer, and actor. Born in Newroad, Kathmandu, to a musically inclined Newar family, his early exposure to classical Newari songs through his father, Man Bahadur, laid the foundation for his lifelong devotion to music. He joined Radio Nepal in 1951, where he collaborated with Nati Kaji to shape the golden era of Nepali music. Over his prolific career, he composed around 1,200 songs and sang nearly 300, spanning genres like love ballads, bhajans, patriotic anthems, and tragic melodies. His compositions for artists such as Narayan Gopal, Tara Devi, and Aruna Lama remain timeless. 🎬 In cinema, Shiva Shankar played the lead role of Lahure Dai in Aama (1964), Nepal’s first feature film. Sunil Chhetri is a celebrated Nepali choreographer, performer, and music video director known for his energetic style and creative flair. Originally from Banke and raised in Lumbini, he rose from humble beginnings to become a household name in Nepal’s music and dance scene. Artistic Journey Inspired by Michael Jackson, Sunil began dancing in school programs and local events. Despite financial hardships, he pursued his passion relentlessly, eventually moving to Kathmandu where he worked as a dancer before joining the Armed Police Force. His national breakthrough came in 2013 when he competed in Dance India Dance Season 4, earning praise from Bollywood legend Mithun Chakraborty. Though an injury cut his journey short, it marked the start of his professional ascent. Neer Bikram Shah, also known as Nir Shah, is a Nepalese movie actor, a poet, lyricist, movie director,media personality and businessman. He is related to the Royal family of Nepal. Neer Shah is the producer or co-producer of many Nepali movies. He has also directed several Nepali movies produced by himself, including Basudev, Pachchis Basanta, Basanti, and a Nepal Bhasa movie Rajamati. He is also a co-producer of the Oscar nominated film Himalaya – l’enfance d’un chef, which was co-produced and directed by the French movie maker Eric Valli. The film, also released as Caravan (in Canada) and Himalaya (in Denmark and France), was the first film from Nepal to win an Oscar nomination.
