Namrata KC is a celebrated Kathak dancer, choreographer, and theatre director from Sarlahi, Nepal. She is the founder of Aesthetic Dance Studio and co-director of Navya Naachghar, a center for experimental dance theatre in Kathmandu. Since 2006, she has been a passionate advocate for storytelling through movement, using Kathak as a medium to explore identity, emotion, and social narratives. Namrata holds a bachelor’s degree in Kathak from Padma Kanya Multiple Campus and a master’s from Lucknow University, India. Her productions—such as Swan Lake, Mokshada, and Rajendra Laxmi—blend classical technique with contemporary themes, often highlighting women’s stories. Through her teaching and performances, she fosters community, discipline, and cultural pride. Namrata’s work has helped elevate Kathak’s status in Nepal, making it a vibrant, living art form that resonates with modern audiences.

Ramesh Budhathoki has so far acted in 1,200 teleserials and in about five dozen movies. Moreover, he has also directed 11 movies. He also holds the record for making Nepal’s longest teleserial of 980 episodes which ran on Nepal 1 television from 2004 to 2007. Budhathoki also made Nepal’s first teleserial called Bacha Birseko Chaina (Haven’t Forgotten Promise) in 1986.

Bhim Bahadur Thapa

Bhim Bahadur Thapa was a celebrated Nepali film actor known for his versatility, physical agility, and long-standing contribution to Nepali cinema. Active across several decades, he appeared in nearly 100 films and popular television serials, including Tito Satya. Thapa acted in notable films such as Basai (2005), Aama (1996), Tuhuro (1994), Arpan (1993), and Goreto (2002), earning recognition for his expressive performances and strong screen presence. Before entering cinema, he served in the British Army and even participated in World War II. Fondly known as “Nepali Tarzan,” “Nepali Babu,” and “Dancer,” he remained admired for his unique persona and dance skills. Thapa passed away on 13 June 2018 at the age of 92, leaving behind a memorable legacy in Nepali entertainment.
