D.B Pariyar was a pioneering Nepali filmmaker best known for directing, writing, and shaping Satya Harischandra (1950), widely regarded as the first Nepali‑language feature film. Working from India during the early diaspora era of Nepali cinema, Pariyar helped establish the narrative, technical, and cultural foundations that later filmmakers would build upon. His contribution marked a defining moment in the transition from stage traditions to cinematic storytelling for Nepali audiences. Reshraj Acharya

Reshraj Acharya was a respected Nepali film director known for his emotional storytelling and strong command of family and social‑themed cinema. He began his directorial journey with the film Tilhari and went on to direct notable works such as Tuhuro, Mato Bolchha, Bandhan, Aama, Man Muttu Ra Maya, Mayako Saino, Bhagyale Jurayo, Nagad Narayan, and Dharmasankat. His final directorial project was Preetiko Phool. Acharya also directed television serials including Dushman and Aama, and served as assistant director on films like Sapana, Sampatti, and Mayalu. He passed away on Falgun 5, 2078 B.S., at the age of 64.
