Ranjana Bhattarai is a Nepali theatre artist and film actress active in contemporary Kathmandu theatre and South Asian cinema. On stage, she has worked with groups like Katha Ghera and Kausi Theatre, performing in acclaimed productions such as “Wedding Album” (as bride Bidushi Koirala) and “Play the System” (as Namita), where she portrays complex, modern Nepali women navigating family and workplace pressures.On screen, Bhattarai appears in the Nepali‑language Indian film “Harry Ki Pyari” (2023) in the role of Urmila, and in the TV mini‑series “A Glass of Happiness” (2021), where she is credited both as an actress (Pari) and as part of the costume/wardrobe team (stylist). This dual presence in performance and behind‑the‑scenes work reflects her broader craft as a theatre‑trained artist who understands character, costume, and visual storytelling.

Sharmila Sharma is a Nepali actress known for her emotionally grounded roles in films, telefilms, and serials since 2000. She debuted with Hulchul and appeared in Hasideu Ek Phera, Mero Maya Timilai, Shaanti, and Kachuli. Her television work includes popular serials like Bhumari, Hari Bahadur–Madan Bahadur, Tito Satya, and Naari. She also acted in acclaimed films such as Juthe and Ati Bho, and has featured in dozens of music videos and short films. Samundra Bhatta is a Nepali filmmaker, director, and writer known for her bold storytelling and cultural depth. A graduate of Toronto Film School, she made her directorial debut with Aadha Page (2016), a romantic drama. Her breakthrough came with Gunyo Cholo: The Dress (2024), a powerful film exploring gender identity and social stigma, starring Najir Husen. The film was selected for the prestigious Photo Film Market in Seattle, USA, gaining international attention. Bhatta’s work blends traditional Nepali themes with contemporary narratives, reflecting her commitment to inclusive cinema. As a rising voice in South Asian film, she continues to challenge norms through visual storytelling.

Gopal Bhutani (born Gopal Tamang, 1932 – November 23, 2010) was a pioneering Nepali art director, actor, and action choreographer who shaped the visual language of Nepali cinema. Born in Fikkal, Ilam, he began his film journey in Bollywood in the 1940s before returning to Nepal, where he introduced action direction to a melodrama-dominated industry. Despite his immense contributions, he struggled to obtain Nepali citizenship due to the “Bhutani” surname. Bhutani worked on over 70 films, including Balidaan, Aago, Shankar, Mamaghar, Shiris Ko Phool, and Jeevan Sangharsha. He passed away at age 78 from stomach cancer. His legacy remains foundational in Nepali film aesthetics and action choreography.
