The story begins with the feared criminal Rate Kaila (Sunil Thapa) being released from prison after four years. He immediately seeks out Laxmi (Subhadra Adhikari), a woman he once desired, only to discover she is now married with two children. During the Tihar festival, Rate confronts her, leading to a violent clash in which he murders her husband. Terrified, Laxmi flees with her two sons, setting her home ablaze behind her.While escaping, one of the children is swept away into a river. Rate assumes both Laxmi and the child have died. The lost child is later found by Bau (Tulsi Ghimire) and taken to a monastery, where monks perform rituals to save him. With no one willing to adopt the boy, Bau takes him in, though this decision costs him his relationship with his girlfriend.Meanwhile, Laxmi survives and returns to collect her husband’s ashes. She vows not to perform his final rites until Rate Kaila is killed.Years pass. The two brothers—now grown into Hemant (Bhuwan K.C.) and Birkhe (Shiva Shrestha)—live separate lives, unaware of their shared past. Fate eventually brings them together as they uncover the truth about their parents’ murder.
