Babul Supriyo (born 1970) is an Indian playback singer whose versatile, emotive voice made him one of the most recognizable South Asian vocalists from the mid‑1990s onward. Born as Supriyo Baral in West Bengal, he grew up in a deeply musical family and received formal training from early childhood, performing regularly on radio and television and winning numerous singing awards during his school and university years. He began his professional music journey after moving to Mumbai in 1992, initially recording cover songs and later earning his playback break in 1994.
