Yogesh Vaidya was a Nepalese singer and musician, often referred to as the Muhammad Rafi of Nepal. He was born in Kathmandu between 1946 and 1947 and passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 77. Vaidya was known for his contributions to Nepali and Newari-language music, with popular songs like "Sapana Bhulayee Saara," "Mero Aanshumaa Nahanse," and "Nepal Mero Timilai Upahar Bhayo". He also sang well-known Newari songs such as "Jai Namo Siri Buddha Bhagwan" and "Jimi Yahmah Thaun Jithay Wai". Beyond music, he worked in civil service for 33 years, retiring as a joint secretary in 2005. He held a master’s degree in food and nutrition from Ghent University, Belgium. Vaidya received several prestigious awards, including the Chhinnalata Song Award, the Mahila Geetkar Sangh Lifetime Achievement Award (2016), and the Bindabasini Lifetime Achievement Award (2021)

Born on December 11 in Kathmandu, Nepal, to Devendra Prasad Bhatta and Tara Devi Bhatta, Manzayashree Bhatta was raised in the Samakhusi area of Kathmandu. Despite having no formal musical training, she discovered her innate singing talent early on, considering it a divine gift. Her musical journey commenced in 2004 with the recording of her debut song, “Sinduri Sanjh Ma”, composed by her sister Anusha and penned by her brother Rajan. In 2005, she released her first album, “Magnet”, marking her official entry into the Nepali music industry. Her mother has been a significant source of inspiration throughout her musical endeavors. One of her notable songs, “Timlai Samjhiye”, gained popularity among listeners and media, further establishing her presence in the music scene. In 2024, Manzayashree achieved international recognition with the release of her single “Jhyain”, a collaborative Indo-Nepali fusion track featuring Bollywood singer Dev Negi. The song was showcased at Times Square in New York City, symbolizing a significant milestone in her career. The music video, directed by renowned cinematographer Binod Pradhan, was filmed at Mumbai's Imperial Palace and featured choreography by the acclaimed duo Bosco-Caesar. He is the naughty soul kid of Nepali music without whom hip-hop or Rap music can’t even be imagined. While other musicians appeared and then disappeared, none were able to match Nirnaya’s standards. Nirnaya was born on 15th Feb. in Birgunj . His father Dr. Shantinath Shrestha went to America to complete his PHD and Nirnaya too moved with him in 1988. Nirnaya joined school in America but carried on guitar classes. He had X-factor in music from very beginning. He participated on most of his school shows. His singing career started from his very Mt. Loghl schooling in 1990. During those times, rap music was in its growth stage. Since, one could express all his life in a single song easily and could connect with the listeners; he was strongly influenced by it so he learned it. He also bagged president of frequency award in eighth standard. As soon as his father completed his PhD, Nirnaya came back to his land and joined St. Xavier School. He had to take tuitions for basic Nepali alphabet. With a view to introduce rap songs among Nepali listeners, he joined image fm in 1999 and started hosting a program name “Bring the house down”. Later after 5 months, he started recording an album for the same name with his group, “Nirnaya and Da’ all stars”. His group mates were Samir, Pranav Joshi, Shakeel and others. The failure of his group was his group mates’ different musical interests. Then after, Nirnaya joined Samrat. They jointly recorded a song Jhilili….. This song strengthened their relationship. In the mean time Rinchin also joined the team. The motive behind naming their group as “The Rappers’ Union” was just an idea of uniting the rappers. “The rappers’ union” released their first album, “For u all” in 2000. It also included English songs like “For u all” and “The game must go on”. More than 1000 CDs were sold by the Rappers’ Union themselves.
