Suraj Kumar Thapa is a Nepali singer, musician, and composer known for his versatility in various genres. He started his musical journey with Nepalaya, later became the keyboardist for the folk-rock band Nepathya, and eventually established himself as a solo artist. His ability to blend traditional and modern sounds has made him a beloved figure in Nepali music. Khem Raj Gurung was a celebrated Nepalese folk singer and songwriter, known for his contributions to the Lok Dohori genre. Born on January 14, 1975, in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha district, Nepal, he gained fame with iconic songs like "Wari Jamuna Pari Jamuna," "Aalu Tama," and "Bhanchan Budapakale." His music often carried cultural and moral themes, resonating deeply with audiences across Nepal. Throughout his career, Khem Raj released nine albums, including Jeevan, Aanamol, Dharan-Pokhara, and Dhakre. He was one of the most prominent singers in Nepal during the 1990s and 2000s. Tragically, he passed away on August 25, 2016, at the age of 41 due to complications from a liver infection.

Shambhu Rai (शम्भु राई) is a legendary figure in Nepali music—a singer, songwriter, composer, and sarangi player whose work bridges traditional folk and modern styles. Born in Chungmang, Dhankuta, he rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with his heartfelt lyrics and distinctive voice. Some of his most iconic songs include: “Chitthi Timilai Lekhu Bhanchu” “Yo Man Bhanchha Kaha Jau” “Chalechha Batas Sustari” “Aalu Dam Chana” He is also known for his mastery of the sarangi, a traditional Nepali string instrument, which adds a soulful texture to his compositions. Beyond performance, Shambhu Rai has contributed to the institutional development of Nepali music—he currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama.
