Avay Dhungel is a singer, musician and songwriter. Most of the songs they sing, they give their own words and music. Born in Okhaldhunga, Pokali VDC, folk singer Avay Dhungel recently lives in the US. Avay's father Nabin Dhungel is also a popular folk singer. Avay sang 'purbeli kanchho', 'supari jai ko mala', aakashaima are very popular songs, "Sali Bhena" is the most popular song he has given to music. Over two dozen songs have been voiced by Avay Dhungel so far and six albums have been released.

Buddhi Bahadur Pariyar was a gifted Nepali folk composer whose song “Resham Firiri” became a cultural anthem. Born in Pokhara, Pariyar grew up immersed in the rhythms of village life. In 1972, he composed “Resham Firiri Resham Firiri”, inspired by the hills and daily joys of Nepali people. The song was recorded in 1974 by Sunder Shrestha and Dwarika Lal Joshi, and quickly gained national fame. Its catchy tune and relatable lyrics made it a favorite among street performers, travelers, and diaspora communities. Despite its popularity, Pariyar remained largely uncredited, highlighting the struggles of folk creators in Nepal’s music industry. His work reflects the soul of Nepali folk traditions—simple, melodic, and deeply rooted in lived experience. “Resham Firiri” continues to echo across generations, symbolizing the enduring charm of Nepal’s musical heritage.

Urgen Moktan is a standout figure in Nepal’s hip-hop and trap scene, known for his gritty lyricism and genre-blending sound. Hailing from Kathmandu, he’s carved out a unique identity by fusing traditional Nepali melodies with modern trap beats, often reflecting themes of street life, spirituality, and cultural pride. His breakout album Urgen Ko Ghoda features collaborations with major names like VTEN (on the track “KKK”) and showcases his versatility—from the raw energy of “ठग् LIFE” to the introspective vibe of “Jay Shambhooo”. He’s also known for tracks like “Jiskirako”, “ARKO TORI”, and “Sab Ta Nai Ho K”, which have gained significant traction on YouTube and streaming platforms. Urgen’s aesthetic is deeply rooted in the Kathmandu underground, particularly the SwoyambhuGang and KTM WestSide movements, and he’s become a voice for a new generation of Nepali youth navigating identity, struggle, and ambition.
