Sapana Shree

Prakash Shrestha (born January 28 in Birgunj) is one of Nepal’s most enduring and beloved singers, known for his velvety voice and evergreen romantic melodies. Since beginning his musical journey in 1973 (2030 B.S.), he has recorded over 1,000 songs, released 12 albums in cassette and an equal number in CD format, and performed in more than 500 national and international concerts. A versatile playback singer, he has contributed vocals to over 150 Nepali films. Shrestha holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Thakur Ram College and a Sangeet Prabhakar diploma from Allahabad University. Before music, he excelled in sports, particularly table tennis, cricket, and football. Over his decades‑long career, he has earned deep admiration for his artistry, humility, and gentlemanly presence. His global performances span Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, making him a distinguished cultural ambassador of Nepali music.

Dawa Gyalmo is a gifted Nepali singer celebrated for her expressive voice and poetic sensibility. Hailing from Darjeeling, she has become a beloved figure in the world of Adhunik (modern) Nepali music. Her performances in the Paleti music series brought her widespread recognition, with standout songs like “Phoolko Dali Dali”, “Aankha Bhitra Timi Aai”, and “Raat Gahirindai Janchha” capturing hearts across generations. She often collaborates with other iconic artists, including Daisy Baraili and Madhu Chhetri, blending lyrical depth with melodic richness. Her music is known for its emotional nuance and timeless appeal, often exploring themes of love, longing, and introspection.

Shiva Shankar Manandhar (1932–2004) was a legendary figure in Nepali music and cinema, celebrated for his versatility as a singer, composer, and actor. Born in Newroad, Kathmandu, to a musically inclined Newar family, his early exposure to classical Newari songs through his father, Man Bahadur, laid the foundation for his lifelong devotion to music. He joined Radio Nepal in 1951, where he collaborated with Nati Kaji to shape the golden era of Nepali music. Over his prolific career, he composed around 1,200 songs and sang nearly 300, spanning genres like love ballads, bhajans, patriotic anthems, and tragic melodies. His compositions for artists such as Narayan Gopal, Tara Devi, and Aruna Lama remain timeless. 🎬 In cinema, Shiva Shankar played the lead role of Lahure Dai in Aama (1964), Nepal’s first feature film. Sunita Dulal is a well-known Nepalese folk singer, born on November 28, 1985, in Jalbire, Nepal. She has been active in the music industry since 2009, performing traditional Nepali folk songs, festive tunes, and modern compositions. Over the years, she has released multiple albums, including "Mero Hajur" and "Nachau Sarara", which feature popular Teej festival songs. Apart from singing, Sunita Dulal is also involved in acting, television presenting, and modeling. She has traveled extensively, performing across the United States, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and several Middle Eastern countries.
