He became widely recognized among audiences through the television serial “Kaukuti”, which was directed by Jitu Nepal and Deepak Raj Giri and received considerable attention at the time. Later, he gained even more popularity through the TV serial “Tito Satya”, also directed by Deepak Raj Giri. Starting in 2051 B.S. (1994/95 A.D.), Thapa began working at Radio Nepal on a contract basis. By 2054 B.S. (1997/98 A.D.), he was appointed as a permanent staff member. He served as a program producer until his retirement in 2078 B.S. (2021/22 A.D.). Currently, he continues to work actively in films and television serials
