Prakash Saput

Tulasi Parajuli was born on June 23, 1972, in Dadha Bazaar, Dhankuta, Nepal, to Makar Nanda Parajuli and Tika Devi Parajuli. As the eldest son, he spent his childhood in Dhankuta, where his mischievous nature often led him to skip classes in favor of attending cultural programs. His academic journey took him from Bhanu Secondary School for his SLC, to Dharan for his Intermediate certificates, and finally to Patan Campus, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nepali at R R College, Kathmandu. Entry into the Music Scene Parajuli’s passion for music was ignited by listening to songs on Radio Nepal, inspiring him to emulate the singers he admired. His enthusiasm for cultural events grew stronger when he moved to Dharan for further studies, leading him to participate more actively in musical programs. He eventually formed the band Jhankar, performing across major towns in Eastern Nepal. Work and Contributions Parajuli continues to be an influential figure in Nepali folk music. In 2024, he released a new song, "Musukkai Hasi", which has been well received. He also performed a solo evening featuring over a dozen songs in support of cancer and kidney patients, blending music with philanthropy. Beyond Music Apart from his musical career, Parajuli is dedicated to education. He serves as a Nepali teacher at Nobel Academy and teaches music at Nobel, Preston, and Annapurna College. He also manages Sangeet Sadhana Private Limited, a music school he founded to foster a strong learning environment for aspiring musicians. Additionally, he has been involved in hosting 'Lok Bhaka', a program for a UK-based Nepali television channel. Tulasi Parajuli remains a respected name in Nepali music, continuously evolving while staying true to his folk roots. His journey is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of music to inspire and uplift.

Basanta Sapkota is a renowned Nepali music composer and lyricist who has significantly contributed to the Nepali music industry. He is known for his work across various genres, including modern Nepali songs, folk music, and film soundtracks. His compositions have played a vital role in shaping contemporary Nepali music. He has written and composed numerous hit songs, earning him recognition among music lovers in Nepal and beyond. Some of his well-known works include Rato Tika Nidharma, Barilai, and Yeta Ni Thikka. His ability to blend traditional Nepali sounds with modern influences has made his music widely appreciated.

Preeti Kaur is a celebrated Nepali-Punjabi pop and R&B singer born on April 26, 1981, in Kathmandu, Nepal, to Indian-origin Sikh parents. Known for her soulful voice and genre-blending style, she began her musical journey in the late 1990s and gained national recognition after winning the Shikhar Beat Contest as Best Vocalist in 2003. Her debut song Jhan Jhan Badhyo marked the beginning of a prolific career in both solo and collaborative projects. In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with the song Promises from the film Unforgettable. She has since released several popular tracks, including Chimlera Aakha, Timrai Lagi, and Rahar. Beyond music, Preeti also participated in Startup Weekend Kathmandu (2014), where her team’s eco-innovation project won first prize. With a career spanning over two decades, she remains a dynamic voice in Nepal’s contemporary music scene.

Laxmi Prasad Joshi, popularly known as LP Joshi, was a pioneering Nepali folk singer and composer celebrated for introducing the traditional Binayo to a global audience through his iconic creation “Riting Riting Nabajau Binayo, Binayole Man Mero Chhinayo.” Born in 1993 BS in Dhankuta‑6, Beechbazar, he devoted his life to the preservation and promotion of Nepali lok‑sanskriti. Recognized with the title Lokgeet Samrat, Joshi produced widely loved songs such as Riting Riting, Vallo Kholo Pallo Kholo, Nigalo Gharima Chyakhura Nachyo, and Khipima Khipi Binayo Baja. Beginning his artistic journey in 2008 BS through dance, he expanded into painting, singing, and literature, sharpening his multidisciplinary talent. His first recorded song appeared in 2013 BS, and by 2020 BS most of his works were already documented. Joshi passed away at age 88 on 2081 Saun 10, leaving behind a lasting cultural legacy.
