The band formed in 1994 and takes its name from the Nepalese word for “a gorge or a cave in the middle of remote hills or mountains.” They have been instrumental in establishing the folk-pop genre within the Nepalese music industry. Some of their popular songs include: “Lekaki Hey Maya”: A soulful track that resonated with listeners. “Hongkong Pokhara”: This song gained fame beyond Pokhara and Nepal, becoming popular among migrant Nepalese worldwide. “Tagaroma Rumal Rakhi”: A hit that rejuvenated the band after an 8-year break. Prem Raja Mahat is a renowned Nepali folk singer, songwriter, and musician. Often referred to as the "Elvis of the Himalayas," he has made significant contributions to Nepali folk music since the late 1970s. Some of his timeless classics include Bajho Khet Ma, Paan Ko Paat, and Simsime Panima. He is also known for playing traditional Nepali instruments like the sarangi and madal. Born in Tanahun, Nepal, Prem Raja Mahat faced hardships early in life, losing both parents at a young age. Despite these challenges, he pursued his passion for music and became a celebrated artist. In 1996, he immigrated to the United States, where he continued to create music and even opened a Nepali restaurant in Baltimore

Deep Tuladhar is a legendary Nepali sound engineer, music producer, and playback singer whose career spans nearly four decades. He has worked behind the scenes on over 15,000 songs, shaping the sonic identity of modern Nepali music across genres—from folk and pop to film soundtracks. He is best known for his contributions to iconic films like Balidaan (1997), where he served as a playback singer, and Thuldai (1999), where he worked as a sound recordist and music technician. His technical expertise and artistic sensibility have made him a go-to figure for generations of Nepali musicians and filmmakers. In addition to his studio work, Tuladhar has also released devotional and cover songs, such as Dakshinkali Bhajan and a tribute to Mohammad Rafi titled Ek Haseen Sham Ko. His recent appearance on the Mhendolafole Podcast offered a rare glimpse into his journey, challenges, and the evolution of sound design in Nepal.

Karmaa Sherpa is a celebrated singer and performer from Darjeeling, currently based in Siliguri, India. She rose to fame through her standout performances on ZEE TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, earning her the title of a SAREGAMAPA (Fame) artist. She is the founder of KARMA MUSIC ACADEMY, where she mentors aspiring vocalists and nurtures young talent with a blend of classical discipline and contemporary flair. In 2025, Karmaa Sherpa was honored as a Grand Jury Member on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil' Champs Nepal Season 2, where she helped guide and uplift the next generation of Nepali musical stars.
