His debut song, “Timi Je Bana Udaharan Bana”, performed by Pramod Kharel and Trishala Gurung, is a motivational piece especially cherished by children and educators. Among his most celebrated works is the historic song “Ghazal Unkai Geet Unkai”, which became the first-ever recorded song by three generations of the legendary Ghulam Ali Khan family — a rare and historic milestone in South Asian music history. Chetan Karki was a legendary Nepali lyricist, film director, screenwriter, and novelist who made a lasting impact on Nepali cinema and music. Born on November 7, 1938, in Syangja, Nepal, he was one of the first screenwriters in Nepali cinema, writing his debut screenplay for Pariwartan. Gagan Birahi was a prominent Nepali film producer, director, writer, and lyricist, known for his versatile contributions to Nepali cinema and literature. Active from the early 1990s, he worked across filmmaking, screenwriting, and songwriting, earning recognition as a multi‑talented creative figure in the industry.He made his film debut with Sankalp (1993), followed by contributions to several notable films including Miteri Gaun and Badal. As a lyricist, he wrote songs for films such as Bhauju and Truck Driver, showcasing his poetic depth and narrative sensitivity.Gagan Birahi directed Miteri Gaun, the first Nepali feature film fully shot in Japan, marking a milestone in Nepali cinema’s international production history.
