Kunjana Ghimire

Shiva Shankar Manandhar (1932–2004) was a legendary figure in Nepali music and cinema, celebrated for his versatility as a singer, composer, and actor. Born in Newroad, Kathmandu, to a musically inclined Newar family, his early exposure to classical Newari songs through his father, Man Bahadur, laid the foundation for his lifelong devotion to music. He joined Radio Nepal in 1951, where he collaborated with Nati Kaji to shape the golden era of Nepali music. Over his prolific career, he composed around 1,200 songs and sang nearly 300, spanning genres like love ballads, bhajans, patriotic anthems, and tragic melodies. His compositions for artists such as Narayan Gopal, Tara Devi, and Aruna Lama remain timeless. 🎬 In cinema, Shiva Shankar played the lead role of Lahure Dai in Aama (1964), Nepal’s first feature film. He is the son of renowned Nepali music composer Ranjit Gajmer, a respected figure in Nepali music. Continuing the creative legacy of his father, Satyajeet has expanded his career beyond Nepali cinema and is currently active in the Bollywood film industry.His early recognition came through his role in Dakshina, directed by Tulsi Ghimire, and he remains associated with the influential 1990s era of Nepali filmmaking. Today, he works in the Indian film industry, contributing to various creative and technical roles as part of Bollywood’s production ecosystem.

Raj Ballav Koirala is a Nepali actor known for his versatile performances in the Nepali film industry. He began his career as a radio jockey at Pokhara F.M 95.8 before transitioning to modeling and acting. Raj gained significant attention for his performance in the music video for the song "Bheteyara Chuttnu" by Karna Das. His major breakthrough came with the lead role in the movie "Parkhi Basen", which celebrated its 100th day of release in cinema halls on August 8, 2008. With over 20 films to his credit, Raj Ballav Koirala has delivered applauded performances in movies like "Apabad", "Masaan", and "Pal". He has received several awards, including the Best Debut Actor (Male) at the KTV Film Awards in 2008 and the Best Actor in a Negative Role at the Digital Cinema Awards and Box Office Awards in 2010. Raj was also awarded the Outstanding Youth of the Year (2011) by JCI International, Nepal Jaycees.
