Arun Thapa (1952–1999) was a beloved Nepali singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and emotionally resonant lyrics. Born in Calcutta, India, he moved to Kathmandu as an infant and later studied in Darjeeling before returning to Nepal to pursue music. His career began in the early 1970s, with his first major hit Jati Maya Laye Pani launching him into national fame. Thapa’s music often reflected themes of love, longing, and introspection, inspired by a personal heartbreak during his college years. His compositions blended poetic depth with melodic simplicity, earning him a devoted following. He worked briefly at Nepal Bank Limited before dedicating himself fully to music, recording for Radio Nepal and releasing two acclaimed albums: Arun and The Best of Arun. Despite battling lung and liver ailments, he continued to sing until his passing in 1999. His legacy lives on through his timeless songs, many of which are considered sadabahar (evergreen) classics.

Originally from Kathmandu, he holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Music from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India, and a Professional Certificate in Logic Pro X from Berklee College of Music, Boston. He is a multi-instrumentalist and a prolific music arranger, having worked on a wide range of projects—from devotional compositions to film scores. Notably, he contributed to the Guinness World Record-holding song “Melancholy” and arranged music for Nepali films like Timi Sanga and Ma Yesto Geet Gauchu 2. Prabesh Man Shakya (प्रवेश मान शाक्य) is a talented Nepali singer, composer, and music arranger known for his soulful voice and dedication to preserving and reinterpreting traditional melodies. He is the son of the legendary singer Panna Kaji Shakya, and has continued his father’s musical legacy by reviving classic songs with modern arrangements. Some of his notable works include: “Tiriri Murali Bajyo Banaima” – a reimagined version of his father’s iconic song “Ke Bho Ke Bho” – a contemporary original from his album Prashansa “Rajmati” – a heartfelt Newa song that showcases his cultural roots In 2025, he released Super Selection of Prabesh Man Shakya, Vol. 1, a remastered collection featuring collaborations with artists like Sukmit Gurung, Manila Sotang, Lasmit Rai, and Pabitra Subba.

Devendra Bablu (देवेन्द्र बब्लु) is a rising Nepali singer, songwriter, and performer known for his emotionally resonant lyrics and catchy melodies that blend modern pop with folk influences. He’s gained popularity through both solo releases and collaborations under the banner of The Firantee and Black Light Pictures.
