Deep Shrestha

Lochan Rijal is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer, songwriter and a scholar of ethnomusicology. Born in the Panchthar district of Nepal, he grew up around music performed at festivals by the local people of that region. The experience influenced him to explore the potential of sound and develop his passion into his profession. While in college, he began teaching music to school children in Kathmandu while also working in the pop and rock music scene, producing award-winning albums, before moving onto something that fed his scholarly ambitions. In 2014, he graduated with a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Massachusetts and Kathmandu University. He also works as the associate professor and Head of Kathmandu University’s Department of Music.

Sujan Chapagain is a prominent Nepali singer, composer, and lyricist, celebrated for his unique blend of traditional Nepali folk elements with contemporary melodies. Born on March 6, 1998, in Bharatpur, Nepal, he developed an early passion for music, influenced by his mother, who is also a singer. He completed his schooling at Narayani Higher Secondary School and pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at the Ace Institute of Management.  his academic background, Sujan chose to follow his musical aspirations, participating in local competitions and events. Sujan gained widespread recognition with his debut song "Teenpatey," which resonated with audiences and showcased his distinctive musical style. He continued to captivate listeners with hits like "Gala Pukka," "Baaf," and "Lajayera," further establishing his presence in the Nepali music scene. Suman Shrestha is a Nepali singer, live performer, music video director, event director, and former Managing Director at Reeyaz Music Pvt. Ltd., active in the Nepali music industry for more than two decades. Known for his versatile creative roles, he has contributed to Nepal’s modern music scene through vocals, visual direction, artist development, and event production.Beginning his career in the early 2000s, Suman became widely recognized for his work at Reeyaz Music, where he served as Managing Director from 2005 onward, helping shape the label’s catalog, artist roster, and music video output during a key era of Nepali pop and modern music. As a music video director, he has crafted visually engaging projects for emerging and established artists, while his work as an event director includes concerts, album launches, and cultural programs in Nepal and abroad.As a singer and performer, Suman continues to appear on stage, collaborate with musicians, and contribute to the creative ecosystem through production, direction, and mentorship.

Asta Lama is a Nepali music composer known for his contribution to modern Nepali music and film soundtracks. He has established himself as a creative force in composition, blending contemporary musical elements with Nepali melodies.He is the Chairman of the Music Composers Association Nepal, playing a significant role in promoting and supporting music composers across the country.As a composer, Asta Lama has worked on various musical projects, including songs like “Ramri Pani Bhaki Chhu” from the film Dulahi, showcasing his ability to create emotionally engaging and commercially appealing music.Beyond composition, he is actively involved in strengthening Nepal’s music industry through leadership, collaboration, and advocacy for composers. His work reflects a commitment to evolving Nepali music while preserving its artistic identity.
