Aleen Shrestha

Bhairav Bahadur Thapa (born 18 February 1933 AD / 1989 Falgun 6 BS, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu) was a pioneering Nepali dancer, choreographer, and scholar widely regarded as one of the earliest architects of Nepali folk‑dance staging. His creative works began appearing from 2007 BS (1950/51 AD), and he formally entered the field of dance direction around 2010 BS (1953/54 AD) through the Bhairav Nritya Dal, established under the initiative of playwright Balkrishna Sama. This marked the beginning of his influential artistic journey.Thapa revitalized Nepali folk and cultural dance by presenting it on national and international stages, giving the genre a new identity and professional structure. He authored several foundational texts, including Nepali Nritya ra Sharirik Praveshika Parts 1–3 (2022 BS / 1965 AD), Dhoka (2030 BS / 1973 AD), Hiddahiddai Baneka Tasbirharu (2065 BS / 2008 AD), Samarpan (2067 BS / 2010 AD), and Himal Natya Mimansa (2072 BS / 2015 AD), which remain important references in Nepali dance studies.Honored with recognitions such as the Jagdamba Shree Samman and Bhim Darshan Roka Memorial Award, Thapa’s contributions shaped the academic, cultural, and performative landscape of Nepali dance.He passed away after a lifetime dedicated to dance, leaving behind a legacy that continues to guide Nepal’s choreographic and cultural scholarship.

Reema Bishwokarma  is a Nepali actress, beauty queen, model, VJ and television journalist . She was born on 5 August in Bardiya, Gulariya, Nepal. Reema did her first screen time when she was in grade 6 or 7 hosting a TV program “Jada Jadye” at an early age. She did her Lower-secondary schooling from Bhassara Secondary School, but completed her SLC from Navaratna Secondary School. Recently, she is doing bachelor 3rd year in Mass Communication from Pinnacle Academy. Before starting her acting career, she had worked as a VJ for Nepal Television and a news caster for National TV. She started her acting career from the music video Jindagibhar Saath Dinchhu Bhannele by Chris KC. This pretty girl Reema is highly appreciated in the Nepali music video by Shreya Ghosal’s Chayechha Basanta.Later she enter into Nepali movie industry. She debuted in the movie ‘Swor’ as an actress. The movie was released in 2011. The movie Swor directed by Prasanna Poudel under the production of MRS Movies Pvt. Ltd. Similarly, she did the movie like Visa Girl, Ritu and so on. Reema went to Rajasthan for the shooting of a music video and also went to Australia for the shooting of the movie “Ritu”. World recognized her from international franchise reality show "Nepal Idol". She co-hosted "Nepal Idol" which was highly praised by the Nepali speaking people around the world.

Hira Devi Waiba (1940–2011) was a pioneering Nepali folk singer whose voice became the soul of traditional Nepali music. Born in Ambootia, Darjeeling, she was the first artist to professionally record Nepali folk songs, including the first-ever Tamang Selo track “Chura ta Hoina Astura.” Her career spanned over four decades, during which she recorded more than 300 songs and worked with prestigious platforms like All India Radio, BBC, and His Master’s Voice. She was the first Nepali folk artist to be signed by Music Nepal and remains the only Grade A folk singer with All India Radio. Her timeless songs like “Phariya Lyaaidiyechan” and “Ramri Ta Ramri” continue to resonate across generations. After her passing in 2011, her children Navneet and Satya Aditya Waiba revived her legacy through the tribute project Ama Lai Shraddhanjali. Hira Devi Waiba remains a cultural icon and guardian of Nepali folk heritage.    

Jiya KC, born on December 12 in Birtamod, Jhapa, is a Nepali actress and model known for her bold roles in films like ATM, Barbaad, and Gigolo, having debuted with Ho Yehi Maya Ho (2013) alongside Rajesh Hamal and Karishma Manandhar. She gained widespread attention for her appearance in the controversial film ATM (Any Time Masti), which sparked both criticism and curiosity in the Nepali film industry. Active since 2013, Jiya KC has portrayed diverse characters in films such as Wrong Way, Rudrakchya, Valentine Dhoka, and Bacha Timrai Ho Ya Mann. After a brief hiatus following Valentine Dhoka (2015), she returned to the screen with Bacha in 2019. Jiya KC is also known for her public relationship with veteran actor Bhuwan KC, which has kept her in the media spotlight beyond her film career.
