Prakash Gurung is a respected Nepalese musician and singer from Darjeeling, celebrated for his emotive vocal style and enduring contribution to Nepali adhunik and folk music. Inspired in childhood, he trained under iconic figures such as Amber Gurung, Gopal Yonzon, Karma Yonzon, and Nati Kazi, and even assisted Narayan Gopal during performances in Darjeeling.Active since the 1970s, he is known for timeless songs like Binti Chha Hai, Othma Aljhiyeko Bachan Deu, and Ma Bhani Bacheko Priya, blending traditional melodies with emotional depth. His career spans playback singing, composition, and music direction, including collaborations with leading artists and performances such as his 2014 Paleti duet with his daughter Reema Hoda Gurung. He has also served as a judge on Nepali Tara and continues contributing to Nepali film music into the 2020s.

Laboni Chakraborty is a talented Nepali classical singer originally from Kolkata, India. She has made a significant impact on Nepal’s contemporary classical music scene, captivating audiences with her soulful renditions. She is also a judge on the Mero Voice Universe talent show.  Early Life & Education Laboni Chakraborty grew up in a musical family, where her father and relatives were singers. She began learning music at the age of five under the guidance of Baishali Juardhar. Later, she trained under Ajoy Chakrabarty, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist, for ten years. She pursued her academic degree in music at Rabindra Bharati University, where she was a gold medalist in her master’s program. Career & Contributions Despite her strong musical foundation in India, Laboni Chakraborty chose to work in Nepal, where she has become one of the most respected classical singers. She teaches music at Lalit Kala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and runs her own music school, Raagrup, where she mentors aspiring musicians. She has performed in various prestigious events, including the Yalamaya Classic, where her rendition of Vilambit and Madhya Khayal in Raag Todi received a standing ovation. Prabesh Man Shakya (प्रवेश मान शाक्य) is a talented Nepali singer, composer, and music arranger known for his soulful voice and dedication to preserving and reinterpreting traditional melodies. He is the son of the legendary singer Panna Kaji Shakya, and has continued his father’s musical legacy by reviving classic songs with modern arrangements. Some of his notable works include: “Tiriri Murali Bajyo Banaima” – a reimagined version of his father’s iconic song “Ke Bho Ke Bho” – a contemporary original from his album Prashansa “Rajmati” – a heartfelt Newa song that showcases his cultural roots In 2025, he released Super Selection of Prabesh Man Shakya, Vol. 1, a remastered collection featuring collaborations with artists like Sukmit Gurung, Manila Sotang, Lasmit Rai, and Pabitra Subba.

Sushant Ghimire is a rising Nepali singer-songwriter known for his introspective lyrics and soulful melodies. Originally from Biratnagar, he discovered his passion for music early on—singing Raju Lama’s “Timi Lai Dekhera” at a school event sparked his journey. Despite initially pursuing engineering and working full-time at a construction company, his love for music led him to perform cover songs and original compositions at bars in Kathmandu, often juggling gigs with his day job.
