Shantiram Rai

Shambhujeet Baskota (born 15 March 1957, Nepal) is one of the most prolific and influential music composers in Nepali cinema. Active since 1971, he has shaped the sound of modern Nepali film and pop music through his melodic style, emotional depth, and versatility. He has composed music for over 355 Nepali feature films and created more than 2,000 modern songs, folk songs, and bhajans, making him a defining figure in the industry. He is also credited as the director of Nepal’s first music video, Mayalu Timi Tadha (1985), sung by actor Bhuwan KC.Beyond music, he has contributed to social causes, including anti‑drug programs for children.    

Bachchu Kailash is a celebrated Nepali singer, composer, and lyricist known for shaping the golden era of modern Nepali music. Rising to prominence in the 1960s and 70s, he introduced a poetic, introspective style that blended classical nuance with contemporary melody. His timeless songs like Timi Nai Hau, Jati Chot Dinchhau, Timro Tyo Hasilo Ankhama, and Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga remain cultural landmarks. Revered for his soft vocal texture, literary depth, and emotional clarity, Bachchu Kailash is remembered as one of Nepal’s most original and influential musical creators, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire generations.

Robin Tamang is a Nepalese singer, musician, actor and founder of rock band Robin & Looza &  Robin and The New Revolution. Born in Singapore, he was youngest of five siblings born to the family of a British Army. Due to the different postings of his father, he moved to several country in his childhood like Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei. During his schooling in Singapore, he used to listen to Jimmy Hendrix and Deep Purple, who became the true inspirations to him. While he was doing his college in Humber College in Toronto, in the mid-1980s, he formed his second band Tamang and performed at different stages. In 1996, he came back to Nepal and went to Pokhara, his father's place and joined the rock band Looza. He performed together with Looza but soon this journey came to an end after the group disbanded in 2005.

Dij Raj Poudel is a Nepali singer, composer, and lyricist known for his soulful voice and contributions to modern Nepali music since the early 2000s. Born in Sindhuli, he studied music under Dhan Bahadur Gopali and N.B. Chamling. His discography includes solo albums like Sambodhan, Sunaiko Durbar, Ghaderi, and Goreto, and he has contributed to numerous collection albums. Dij Raj’s popular songs include Timi Aaune Batoma, Sunaiko Durbar, Timi Kadarma, Nisthurile, Mauka Pare Pachi, Sunko Paincho, and Mutu Ma Bas Magi. He has performed internationally in India, Thailand, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, and China, promoting Nepali music across borders.
