As the New York chapter leader for the Peace Initiative Bhutan, Karuna is committed to fostering dialogue and action on pressing international matters. Her dedication extends to hands-on service, notably through Global Medical Brigades in countries like Honduras, where she works to improve healthcare access. A recipient of the Young Leader Award on World Refugee Day, Karuna is also a sought-after public speaker, inspiring audiences with her insights on social justice, diversity, and leadership. She has attended impactful events like the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE), showcasing her advocacy for equity and inclusion, especially as a former refugee from Nepal. Manisha Thapa is a model and dancer. She has acted in more than 2 dozen music videos and stage performances. She has studied Bachelor of Arts (Creative Arts) in Dance from Padma Kanya Multiple College. She has worked as a dance instructor choreographer in various programs and schools.
